How disgusting, no post for three weeks!

What has been happening?

Not much really. The weather has been pretty crap on the whole - where has it NOT been pretty crap.

Actually managed one ride on Bridgie - but the other week ends were either weather crappy or I was busy helping with some trials. Have been the gofer for equine frozen AI; got to help with a foal post mortem on Saturday and had an 'overnighter' to help with a 2 am frozen AI scan.

The car is now illegal - failed the WoF because the rear brakes need the shoes replaced. Also have to find the $$s to pay for my licence renewals. That is the two 'P' classes and the 2 HT classes. One year is $160 odd, which will have to suffice as the 5 yr cost is about 300 for the HT plus 400 odd for the P's. Bleat, bleat, moan.

Ponies are well. Not getting any fatter but sadly not getting any thinner either. All wearing their 'instruments of torture' aka grazing muzzles. Really must get a pic of them all.

Exam is all over

And I either creamed it or have bombed out totally...  A bit unnerving when other victims voiced their opinion that it was harder than what they expected and I didn't find it hard going at all (not that I voiced my opinion at all)-must be learning tact at long last?   So either I missed the point completely and the markers are going to laugh themselves silly about my answers or I am brighter than I thought I was.

Have to confess that I did not do as much study as I 'should' have.

Went and busked at the local market this morning.   There was hardly anyone there, so certainly did not help the very sad state of the exchequer.   However another busker came along and he invited me to join him on the whistles.   I had a ball - don't know about the quality of the music, but it was good fun as I was having to improvise a lot because of not knowing his music.   Did get the chance to do a lead break on 'Summertime' (in C).   I have never played that with anyone else - just one of the many tunes tucked away inside the head which pop out occasionally..

Bridgie is stinking in season, so obviously not in foal.  Would have been very interesting to see what she would have had to Brennan, but certainly not the end of the world that she is empty.   Now I have no excuses not to get on and ride her.  B was being totally awful to poor Puku, so they have been separated for the duration.   The rest of the troops are well.

The Day that I went to the dogs

Went to the greyhound races on Monday as a tag along with the supervising vet. Hmmm, interesting, learned quite a lot of stuff about greyhounds and racing.

More than I really wanted to I guess. ANd the overwhelming smell of dog pee did not do it for me.

Sunday was entertaining as helped 'sedate' three large sows for nose ringing, using a combination of out of date ace and reasonable quantities of gin. Worked a treat - and the sows were very 'happy'.

Job all successfully completed.
